trying to get them both looking vaguely in the direction of the camera at the same time these days is akin to lightening striking twice.

Cute.

Learned in a pumpkin-carving workshop (my life, don't ask) that a craft store pumpkin carving kit (ie.Michaels) is great for working with kids and pumpkins. It has a serrated scoop that makes small work of hollowing and saves seeds well. Better yet there are tools like clay shaping tools that kids can use to carve down from the outside to make a design in the pumpkin without cutting completely through. Not sharp, safe to use. The dug out design then shines as more like stained glass to show the picture. Pumpkin, with design not cut completely through, lasts longer. Last tip; pumpkin spice rubbed on lid makes area smell good when candle lighted inside. The boys will be just the right size next year for Pumpkin Carving 201.

What great ideas for the carving! I especially like the pumpkin spice idea and will use it in my class next year since the pumpkins we carved smelled terrible!

The boys look adorable as ever! I know that they had a fun time at the zoo and romping the neighborhood safely with Mom and Dad.

What a perfect time to paint the sun room a mango color...a sign of fall. When I was a teenager, orange was my favorite color. Our first purchase of furniture was a fall schema. Fall still is my favorite time of year.

Happy Halloween. Sleep well!

Love, Mom

I want that gnome & 2-legged pumpkin!
No Halloween is as special without them!
