Mother's Day in the Arboretum

Sorry it's been so long since the last post--we've been busy recently and haven't been hauling the camera around with us too often. But today we went to the Arboretum for the Mother's Day Lilac Festival. James didn't last that long before falling asleep in his stroller, but we got a few pictures while he was awake. (He spent most of the time riding around on my shoulders.)

Happy Mother's Day!

The uncomfortable look in my face in the second picture was him pulling hard on my hair. The laugh on his face in the third picture was for the same reason.

What a look of joy James has!
He is seeing all the world from the top of his world! Daddy's shoulders! He will approach his whole life with the same security and happiness that you give him from this lofty perch. And he will never forget a moment of it!
P.S. Is that Gabriel? Ah, sweetness

Spring in Boston is lovely. Joe, you and James make quite a team. Adorable times two.

I'm using the photo where James is riding without pulling your hair, Joe, as a desktop.

Anne, your Mother's Day provided rewards for all of us. Thanks for sharing.

Hooray for the chance to see that beautiful boy looking so happy!!! I miss seeing him.

Not to sound snippy, because I really don't mean it that way at all, but wanted to point out Anne that you are also the "top of [James'] world." Even if Joe is taller! You are such a lovely family.

Looks like you had a wonderful Mother's Day! Hope things are going well for you guys.

Dear Amy,
You expressed it well and his big smiles are born of loving parents. Joseph rode my shoulders for years and I wept when I realized he no longer asked me to carry him, hold him-Great memories.
(Anyway, Amy, all women know who raises the children, right?)
